Z5 Dual, hangs severely after 7.1 update!

Hello fellow SONY users.

I have updated my Sony Xperia z5 Dual to 7.1.1 last week and it worked pretty well for a day or two. Battery consumption is better now.

BUT!!!

Unfortunately, this happiness didn't last long. After two days my phone suddenly hanged severely and even home screen disapeared (Xperia launcher). The phone became extremely slow so that none of the applications worked.

I tried software repair via my PC again. It became good again. but after a 24-hour working with my phone, this problem happened again. Although by restarting the phone the phone become stable but after a day, it will hang again!

I tried uninstalling some applications as well to see whether the problem exist or not, but that didn't help.

I don't know what causes the problem to the phone. I hope Sony make a further update available soon to solve this problem.

I did the Android system update yesterday. Since I have huge slowdowns, applications that close, my battery that empties very quickly and it also heats ..
 
What should I do to solve this problem?

I also updated my z5 compact to 7.1.1 on 7 July 2017 and have the same problems. The phone hangs and is very slow to the point it it very difficult to use even for phone calls and sms. Cannot get keyboard up.  Restarting the phone improves the situation for only a very short time before it reverts back to hanging and slow. I have plenty of space so that shouldn't be an issue. 

Pretty disappointed as this phone has been flawless for 18 months and is now barely usable because of an update!

My problem after last week update, it is if I  want to delete pictures from my folder, I can't. The pictures are deleted only after I restart the phone.  How can I do to be back to normal.?

I had same issue. Booted to safe mode (hold power button, then long press on power off).  Safe mode worked fine.  I noticed several apps updated (like 10).  Some for scrolling and crashing issues.  I rebooted to normal mode and it's great again. So something in cache cleared with the safe mode reboot or one of the apps was causing it.  But it's good now, so see if it works good in safe mode.

Problems after update nougat 7.1.1

Hi!! I have un little problem, I updated my Z5C to nougat 7.1.1, I had a good performance, but two days after, I suffered from excessive memory usage of System, Before the update, it was about 600-800mb, but now it gets high up to 1.2gb, leaving few memory apps, I repeated with Xperia companion but this problem appears again , I have seen that many persons have this same problem.

My z5 compact has the same problem. After the update the performance of apps became really jittery. I checked the ram usage and the new op system is using most of the device memory.  What good is it if you can no longer use Apps?

I've updated my phone to 7.1.1 and after that the phone is heating alot and the battery is draining very fast because of that.  Sometimes some applications freezes and the phone stops responding.  Please let me know if this thing gets fixed.

What happens if you boot into safe mode? See if your phone is fast in safe mode.

I've had the same issue for the last couple of days after updating, phone has been unusable at times. I used CCleaner to clean up cache and RAM then manually deleted the app cache (settings>storage>internal shared storage>cached data) and phone seems to be back to normal now.
