Hi @Rosebud64
Ok, let´s ttry the following, but first run a backup of the device information. Then perform a system repair using PC Companion orBridge for MAC. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 80% battery. Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds) Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process. If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP. Keep us updated please, I´m at disposal for any question.
Hi,
How are you trying to take a screenshot? Is it by holding down the ON/OFF + volume down(-) for 2-3 seconds or do you choose the option "Take screenshot" while holding down the ON/OFF button?
Hi @Rosebud64
Please, boot your device into safe mode as explained here. If this issue is not present in this mode, that indicates a third party app is causing the problem. In this case exit Safe Mode and then un-install any third party apps you don't need and clear the cache/data for the apps you want to keep. Keep us updated.

I agree with xavinux, safe mode would be recommended in this case. Have you ever been able to take a screenshot?
