Hi I'd be grateful for some help! My 4 month old Xperia Z2 has always worked fine until today. It was connected to my Mac computer, and I was asked to update Sony bridge for MAC. After about 10 mins it said Update Failed on the computer. I disconnected the phone, but now the phone wont turn on - all I get is an error message saying "Software update failed, make sure that your phone is connected to the computer and try again"
However when I connect it, the device isnt recognised.
I cant switch the phone off or on, all thats happening is a continuous loop of red light and then the error message (it's on charge at the moment)
Can anyone help?

You may need to perform a software repair using PC companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.
Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).
Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).
Hi thanks however my computer is a Mac so am presuming PC companion wont work?
Thats what killed it in the first place....it wont recognise my device now
Even if you follow the above steps that I have posted?
I tried the repair my device but perhaps there is not enough charge in the battery, its on charge now - well at least I think it is, the software error message keeps appearing still but I hope that it's still charging in the background. Not sure how to tell!
Charge it for at least 2 hours.
I'll try that thanks for all your help
