xperia Z2 driver fails to install.

I have reciently upgraded to the Z2 phone, my iphone 4 was stolen.  My issue is that my phone won't connect to my pc.

I have tried a pc at the phone store and it connects, so I know it's not the phone.  I have pc companion on my computer as well as what I'm told is drivers for the phone in a downloaded file.  I've extracte the drivers into the same file but when I search for the files via update driver computer does not find it even though I'm in the correct folder.  I've searched the net for drivers via update driver, computer starts install, then tells me it fails. S1 driver fails (fast boot) D4305 fails (this is another name for the phone not sure if I got the numbers right in this post but I'm close. I've tried rebooting system, unpluging all usb devices, turning off win firewall and antivirus software.  I'm not sure what's blocking the installation of the phone drivers.  I'm pretty sure if I can get the driver's installed on my ccomputer, I can get pc companion to see my phone.  I've got it to connect to my Null, which I assume is my phone, but when I open pc companion It's not connected, probably because of drivers. Tried connecting with phone turned off and on, turning on with up volume key pressed, debugging with developer still can't find thi issue.

It is certainly an odd one as any of the above steps should have resolved this by now. You may want to try connecting to another PC so that we can rule out the phone/cable.

As stated in one of the above posts, I've been able to connect to the phone stores computer with the exact same phone and cord.

Sorry I must have missed that; in this case I can only advise you to contact your local  Xperia Care team for assistance in arranging an assessment of the cable and phone.

I still have not been able to fix this problem, I'll review what I've tried.  PLEASE READ before suggesting a solution.

Tried uninstalling all drivers and software for the phone and re-installing them.  Tried using windows update and troubleshooter to update the drivers for the phone. Tried installing PC companion on my PC before connecting my phone. Tried disabling my firewall even though I don't think I have one other than windows firewall.  Tried disabling antivirus software. Tried hooking upn to a PC at the Bell store, it works there. Tried removing Itunes and any other apple software. Tried removing any media software that might use MTP to transfer files.  Itunes and media software was copied to an external hard drive then unplugged.

I believe that the phone and cord is in good condition and I've tried calling sony support and set phone to USB debugging we went as far as they could take me, so I thought Id try here.I may have missed posting somthing I've tried, but everything is in above posts.

The only things I've been able to get is.

PC companion is on my PC, message My NULL is connected do you want to load PC companion then nothing actually connected.

Able at times to see Android in devices and printers area of control panel no drivers loaded.

Able at times to see 6505 in devices and printers area of control panel no drivers loaded.

Able at times to see S1 device in control panel same as above.

And as mentioned not able to update or install drivers for the above mentioned devices I get an error and failed message

Well I don't know what fixed the problem, but I turned off my wifi on my phone and turned off my bluetooth on my phone and tried to connect to my pc. Finally a message came up on my phone sking me to install software on my pc from my phone, I tapped on ok it did it's thing and now my PC can now see my xperia. Guess my phone wasn't ready for stampeed, next near will be different.  If you have the same problems as me look what I had to do in my posts If posted everything I've done, well good luck to everyone and thankyou to all that helped.

Hi, i know this is an old post, but it appears i am having the same issue!!

I have tried all the solutions listed above to connect my new Z2 to my laptop but nothing seems to work. The weirdest part is, is that this is my second Xperia Z2 and the old one connected fine without having to install any software or drivers.

So not sure whats going on!

I finally got my phone to connect to my laptop, awhile back, so I may be wrong with what I did, but it's worth a try.  I think what I did was disconnect my bluetooth and wifi from my phone when I was connected with the cable after that it didn't matter.

Yea i tried that a couple of times, doesnt seem to work. Its really frustrating as my old Z2 connected with no problems at all.

Doesnt seem to be any info on the internet about this issue either!
