Xperia Z1 Ultra won't start

Last night i was having problems where my phone just kept shutting itself down, but this morning i am unable to turn the device on at all.

I have followed several instructions online with no success. Holding the power button and the volume up button doesn't vibrate unless i have the phone on charge (at which time i get a flashing red LED).

I can only start the device by taking it off charge, holding the power button and putting the charge cable back in, but the moment i let go of the power button it shuts off again.

I am unable to do a hard reset, nothing happens. I was able to do a soft reset (restore factory data and settings) while holding the power button all the way through, still with no success (the reset was successful cause when i startup by holding the power button i can see the setup - select a language).

I am unable to use PCC as when i connect the device it just keeps connecting and disconnecting before PCC can even pick the device (windows notification sounds pluggined in then plugged out over and over). Although when the USB is plugged in to the PC the red LED flashes are slower than when plugged in to the wall.

Try performing a system repair - This will factory reset your phone

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

Thanks, that kind of worked for a day, but then started shutting itself down again, and now back to not turning on. I have now sent it to the repair shop, see what they can see whats wrong with it. Thanks for the help.
