The screen on my z1 compact simply won't switch on.

This morning I turned my z1 compact in my pocket, but when I took it out to view something I couldn't, despite pressing the power button a number of times, the screen just remained black. It's been like that all day since and I've also been unable to receive notifications seemingly. Any ideas ?

Press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times to force shutdown.Turn it on after.

I had my mobile on 3rd Sept as up grade with virgin and my phone has never worked. It will not turn on. I'm so upset. I just don't understand why it's not working. It's a brand new phone.

I did the same: pressed the Power and Volume Up buttons, phone vibrated three times and yet, it still wouldn't turn on.  Very frustratiing. My phone has been dead for about  a day now and I cannot contact (online) any Sony Service Center in the area (MAnila, Philippines).
