I thought that getting a 'SIM free' phone would avoid the awful 'carrier delays' & my updates would come straigt-from SONY.
Is this correct ?
Solved! Go to Solution.
You'd think so, seeing as that's how EVERY other major OEM works (HTC, Samsung, LG, Motorola etc), but apparently Sony are too cosy in bed with the carriers in the UK. **bleep**.
Oh dear........ I have a 3 SIM, so I guess I'll have to wait for them (hope they are better than Vodafone).
You'll get it before me then! I'm using an unlocked UK model outside the UK. I'm willing to bet I don't see the update until after everyone else has got the next one!
i'm on giffgaff in the uk, which sort of runs on o2. it's now 3rd june and no update over the air or through bridge for mac......and the phone is still getting very warm.....will be interesting to see how a firmware update will fix that...
I don't know what all the fuss is about, my phone is exactly the same after the update anyway.
does the camera get very warm after a few minutes?
If I dont see the update in the next couple of days I will be returning the phone. No point in keeping a device that is not properly supported and updated.
Yes also with the new FW
I just flashed my phone to the latest firmware from here
using these instructions

I'm on giff gaff and i wasn't expecting an ota update any time soon
