Screen goes black during call

Hello, if I want to make the Z5 a call and dial the number and pick up the phone, the screen goes black and I can do nothing more. It then responds to anything, not even on the Power button until the other ends the call. Then, the screen lights up again and it goes back all normal.

I don't have a screen protector, never did and I still have the same problem as mentioned above

I have a same issue. I find out that even few finger prints over the proximity sensor causing this behavior on my phone. When I clean it, it works just fine for some time. Screen protector does not affect this on my phone, I've tried it with and without with same result.

I have what seems to be a common fault with the proximity sensor always thinking that my ear is by the phone, so my screen goes blank as soon as I try to call somebody.

Having searched these forums I tried the solution of backing up my phone and doing a factory reset. However, this hasn't cured the problem and I can't remember seeing any advice on what to do if that should fail?

Thanks in advance Slightly_smiling_Face

Does your phone has a protective film, glass and/or cover?

No, nothing is on my screen. I have just noticed it temporarily fixes itself if I press hard over the sensor then release, but only for a very short time. Don't know if that is relevant at all...

Settings > about phone > diagnostics > test the proximity sensor, and it'll be wise to contact your Local support
