Hi,
I am using two different accounts on my Z2. The first one is my GMail account. Everything's perfect avout this. Second is my Exchange account. Here I figured ut that the Z2 des not sync my contacts. I checked all settings for the account and contacts are marked to be synced, but without success.
Has anybody an idea of what could be the probelms?
Thansk for your input.
BR,
Christian
Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
Is the problem that contacts on your Exchange account are not downloaded to the phone or that contacts you add in the phone are not uploaded to the account? When you add a contact in the phone you need to select which account to store it to (just below first and last name).
That sounds strange.
What if you add a contact to your Exchange account in the phone, let it sync, remove the account from Settings -> Exchange ActiveSync -> [your account] -> [menu] -> Remove account and then add the account again. Do you see the contact you added to the account again in your phone?
I doubt removing the Gmail account will help. As the contact was removed when you removed the account it was added to the correct account but as the contact was not restored when you added the account again it shows that the synchronization of contacts with Exchange is not working.
Would it be possible for you to see if this also happens with a colleagues account in your phone?
It's kind of weird. I tried another user. This also did not work. Then I deleted all my accounts on the Z2, including Google. After creating my Exchange Account, the Z2 synced everything perfectly, including all contacts!!!
After that I set up my Google account. I saw that from that point on, the Z2 did not sync contects with Exchange any longer. So I again deleted the Google account, re-configured it and unchecked the box "sync contacts" before it started the first time to do so.
Now, everthing seems to work fine. I do not need my Google contects to be sync'd. I can live with that even if I have no clue about the reasons...
That is very strange indeed but i'm glad to hear that you managed to get sync working.
Could you please send me a PM with the following information so that i can forward it for further investigation:
Name:
Phone nr:
E-mail:
Country:
Operator:
IMEI nr:
Build number:
One scenario is that the sync is working fine, but the active filters in your device phonebook might prevent the EAS contacts to show when you have synced a Gmail account.
Please try:
Have all desired accounts synced (gmail EAS hotmail)
Open phonebook
Click More Options to the lower right corner
Click Filter
Find your EAS account and check the "All contacts" checkbox
Let me know if it helped.
