Notification bar not pullable on whole screen width

Good morning,

After recent update of Xperia Home Screen to version 10.2.A.2.80 I've started observing an irritating problem with pulling down the notification bar. Swiping up -> down in order to pull it down works only if performed near the left/right edges of the screen. Swiping in center of screen simply does not have effect.

What's more interesting, dead zone is not symmetrical: it covers more more left side part of screen than right one. On the left side I'm able to pull down the notification bar on the very edge of screen. On the right side active zone is wider (from cellular signal power to right side of the screen).

I'm pretty sure it is related to malfunctioning Home Screen application because:

• on Lock Screen pulling down the notification bar works as expected
• on Home Screen when notification bar is halfway down (showing just notifications) I can without problem swipe it down/up to reveal/hide phone controls (brightness, NFC, WiFi etc.)
• there was an update of Home Screen application ~2 weeks ago after which I've started experiencing the problem

So far I have tried cleaning the data and cache of Home Screen application, but the problem is still present.

I have all latest system updates installed.

Please help!

Can you check if this happens in safe mode?

In safe mode exactly the same misbehavior is observed.

For the sake of narrowing the probabilities, can you try any 3rd party launcher and see if the same behavior is there? You can try Google launcher, Nova launcher, etc.

I have tried Google and Nova launchers and problem is observed on both of them.

Unfortunately, the problem is still there. Additionally, based on suggested experiments it seems that all tested launchers (Xperia, Google, Nova) have the same problem.

I started having the issue this week. I can swipe down when the phone is locked, but once I unlock the phone, the swipe down on the notification bar does not work. It was intermittent the last few days, but as of this morning, it stopped working altogether.

Peccato non ci siano soluzioni a questo problema. Curiosità, voi avete provato anche a fare il backup e ripristino? 

Too bad there are no solutions to this problem. Curiosity, did you also try to back up and restore?

Spero non smetta di funzionare del tutto anche a me! Che guaio se succede. Peccato perché io mi trovo con questo z3 compact
