Again an issue after updating android. This time updating from android 5.1 to 6
Yesterday I recieved a pop up that a system update was available. Installed it with PC companion and checked the phone and settings.
All seemed to work but the phone does not connect to my 4G / LTE network anymore.
Did a factory reset and downloaded new APN settings all with no result.
So what's next ?
Last time i had an issue with the android 5 update and had to wait 2 months for the next update to solve my mobile data issue.
Any suggestions ?

Update:
Phone returned from Sony service: guess what ? No problem found..
So back to where i was before.
Did the whole sequence again: Factory and Network reset and restored my backuped data.
Result: nope......
All i had was a fast battery draining phone and no LTE / 4G.
Just before i want to make an angry call to Sony i wanted to make sure that there is no issue at my telecom company.
I called them and they listened to my story. They didn't see any strange things in the settings but the only thing they could do was do a reset (of these settings?).
I should restart the phone after 5 minutes and see what happens: Yes !! LTE / 4G is working again.
I am happy of course but what bothers me is wat the relation is between and android update and messed up settings at the telecom provider.
Nevertheless, for me: case closed.
Thank you all for your support.
I can try but for me it is not logical at all and also most likely not the solution.
The current sim worked with 4G/LTE and android 5 so i don't think it is the problem.
Sorry to hear that.
Could you check with your operator that the APN-settings you have are correct? You can see them under Settings -> More -> Mobile networks -> Access Point Names.
Hello Rickard,
Checked the APN-settings: They seemed to be ok.
Downloaded them again and add settings manually. All with no success.
I have internet but only 3G
@uliwooly
Tried another 4G sim and the same result: No 4G.
Conclusion: Phone issue
The other SIM-card you tested, was it from the same operator? Which country are you in and what operator do you use?
It's another provider..
But i don't see the relevance of this question.. either the phone works with a 4g sim or not.
country : the Netherlands.
In the meantime i contacted sony support in the netherlands, i have to send in the phone.
The reason i asked is to see if it might be the automatic settings you get for a specific operator that are not correct. I saw this in another thread where the automatic settings for a certain operator needed to be changed manually after the update.
When on LTE, do you get any reception at all (bars) or is it that you get reception but not any mobile data connection?
Would it be possible for you to take a log from your phone and send it to me?
To do this:
Settings > About phone > Build number, tap 7 times on the build number
Go back to Settings and select Developer options and turn on "USB debugging". Then tap "Logger buffer sizes" and set this to "4 M".
- Try the LTE connection
Settings > Developer options, select "Take bug report". When the report is ready (may take a minute or so) you get a notification that you can tap and share to Google Drive. Please send me a link to this file in a private message.
It is not connecting to my 4G network at all. When searching manually for available networks all kind of networks from my provider are listed and i am able to to connect to the 2G and 3G network.
But if i choose 4G (LTE) all i see is the rotating circle, no connection and after a while it connects to 3G.
As mentioned before i also entered the APN data manually according to the information of my provider.
For now i am fed up with it and i will ship this thing tomorrow to the Sony service department. Let them fix it.
It is the second time that after a major android update i experience mobile data problems.
Last year August/September it was that after an android 5.1 update
See
The next update fixed it.
With the current issue do not want to wait for the next update.
