Then it sounds like it is a bit to many conversations/messages if it worked smoothly after the reset but not when you restored all the text messages.

Try Clearing the messaging app data.

How to clear data on apps.
From your Home screen

1. Tap the Application screen icon.
2. Find and tap Settings > Apps.
3. Swipe to the All tab.
4. Find and tap on the messaging app.
5. Tap Force stop > Clear data.
6. Restart the phone

I tried what you said Phy

clearing app data doesn't solve the problem

Even after booting in safe mode the problem is still there

Hi,

Do you have many messages/conversations in general? Not only for the conversation(s) that you are trying to delete.

I have about 443 conversations , but that problem didn't occur in kitkat

also I have a freind that updated his ZR to lollipop , he didn't get this problem

That were quite few conversations, a lot of messages in them as well? Perhaps you could backup all your messages via the preinstalled "Backup & restore" application or PC Companion and then use a third party application like History Eraser to delete all the messages. When this is done, send some messages and delete the conversation to see if same behaviour appear (do this without restoring your backup).

ok I will try that , thank you very much

Edit : History eraser took too much time like 10 mins and didn't get the job done , and then I forced stop it .
