How do I delete things off my SD card?

I tried downloading a movie straight onto my SD card from my laptop to my experia by dragging it across. It worked, but when I opened the movie it was just 2 clips. So I downloaded a diff version of it, HD in mkv format, and when I tried to transfer it across it kep failing after half the transfer. Could be the film , not sure BUT ive tried to delete the 2 previous clips from my phone, and theres no delete option in movies, nor is there any option to go into your SD card and delete stuff.

Anyone help please? #

Cheers

1. In movies when you select a movie keep your finger on it and a pop-up should appear with the option to delete.

2. If you have File Commander app installed you can also delete files with that.

Many thanks Slightly_smiling_Face

Whats the best way to transfer movies across from my laptop to my phone? Im using drag and drop like I do with my music, but as of yet I havent been able to get a film to work properly.  Whats the best format to use, and can it play blu rays formats?

Ive installed mx player and mobo player today to see if they play stuff better than the standard movie player.

Cheers for any tips Slightly_smiling_Face

Drap and drop should be fine.

But remember there is a limit on filesize of 4Gbyte. You cannot copy files larger than that to sd-card. You can copy files larger than 4Gbyte to internal space.

Most common fileformats should work. MKV-container i common for movies in HD but many of these is larger than 4GB.

MX Player handles Dolby Digital and that format in common in movies and tv-shows, Xperia Z internal player cannot handle DD.

But keep in mind that the internal space is used for apps too so you dont make it full. May cause some problems if no free space life.

If you want big MKV-files on SD-card you can use MKVmerge for splitting them in smaller pieces under 4GB. Quite simple and fast operation and all stuff like audiotracks, subtitles and chapters will be there after a split.

I use Media Go to transfer files.
