Hello,
So jack on my z3 has been behaving very weirdly for last couple of months. Whenever the headphones moves a tiny bit it stop playing music like it was unplugged. I tried cleaning the jack a few times with no luck.
Also I have been using MDR V6 with it for quite long. I was wondering if it got damaged somehow since the jack and cord on MDR V6 is quite heavy.
I want to know if someone else had such issues or know how to sort this issue.
Solved! Go to Solution.
I had tried everything.
So I decided to order a new headphone jack and replaced it myself.
It works as intended now. So I am happy.
And sorry, sending it to a service center was not an option. So I did it myself.
does this happen when you are on safe mode?
if you think this more of a hardware problem, I suggest you take your device to the your local service center Local support
Yes. It happens in Safemode too.
I don't plan on sending it to service center. plus I'm in San Francisco, california and I don't think there is any service center here.
I just want to make sure it's not a software issue or some dirt.
Hi @utsavshah,
I'm sorry to hear about your phone.
I'm afraid it sounds like it's hardware related since as soon as you move the headphones the music stops, there is however a few more things you can try.
There is an application in the phone called Smart connect that handles some of the accessories connected to the phone, I would recommend that you clear data for this specific app and then restart your phone. To do that, go to Settings > Apps > Smart connect > Storage > Clear data, reboot your phone once it's done.
If you have another headset/headphones that you can try connecting to the phone that would be great as well.
If there is no change after clearing data, and trying another headset/headphones, a software repair using Xperia Companion is the next thing to try, this will rule out that this behaviour is caused by the software in your phone.
Do note that this will delete all the data stored on the internal storage of the phone so it's recommended to backup using Xperia Companion prior to starting with the repair process.
If you are still experiencing the same behaviour after completing the software repair, I agree with @nolramlb, the phone will have to be examined by a trained technician at an authorized service centre and your Local support team are well informed on how to proceed with this and they will be able to provide you more information regarding where the service centres are located in your market!
Let us know how it goes!

Hi @Robertzyzz, sorry to hear about this.
There is no setting in the device that you have accidentally changed since you can't change the balance.
I would recommend that you take a look at my previous reply in this thread and see if that helps.
