clear facebook app cache
settings>apps>facebook>clear data>restart your device
Tried this so many times but facebook still crashes. And, it messes up other apps.
Using Sony Xperia Z Ultra.

lucky you posted first... my reply would've been
settings»apps»facebook app manager»disable
settings»apps»facebook»uninstall
use a browser
I face this same problem of facebook app crashing and even make the whole system crashes and i have to restart my phone.
The only solution i found is to clear facebook data and leave it unsigned
I hope sony technical team hasan explanation and come out witha solution or an update to solve this
Sony xperia z1
Facebook began crashing every few hours about two months ago. Uninstall and reload FB would solve problem, but only for a couple hours. As of this weekend, it doesn't even get through reload before the dreaded notification appears. Many customer comments reflecting the same problem. This is unacceptable! Verizon tech rep says Sony needs to be working on a software fix having to do with security protocols. He suggested going to an earlier version of Fb using an app called APKPure. I had no luck with that.
The only slution i could find so far is uninstalling facebook app and installing 'facebook lite' instead
You can find it on playstore with same logo but in white colour
It's another smaller version app of facebook that uses less data
And myphone stopped crashing since then.
Hope this helps
Best Regards,
Has anyone have solution for this? I'm using Xperia Z1, I have uninstalled fb app around April or May because it keeps crashing then around July I installed it again it was okay but after I exit the app it won't open again. And yesterday I installed it again and it won't open open at all. I did clear cache/data, restarted my phone and still the same. Is this a Sony problem or just Facebook itself?
