aeroplane mode or ?????

fairly new to this,,,, i have a sony xperia z3 compact,,, the last time i went overseas i took out my sim card, so didnt get any calls or charges,,, i was told can put on aeroplane mode and would do the same,,, so no need to take the sim card out,,,,, is this correct,,, could someone help... going overseas again soon.... cheers

Hi @roxane, that is correct, you don't need to remove your SIM card from the device while you are overseas, you can instead enable airplane mode.

In Airplane mode, the network and radio transceivers are turned off to prevent disturbance to sensitive equipment.

This means that you will not be able to to the following things while airplane mode is activated.

• Place or receive phone calls
• Send or receive text messages
• Use the mobile data connection (Internet)
