I want to now what DAC has tje Sony Xperia XZ Premium.
When sony will take out a new cell phone with a quad dac like the Lg G6!
After listen from a lot of phone and other DAC/AMP - DAP I still confirm that DAC and the amp model does matter.
SONY just pump up the bass quantity on Xperia way too much and the bass quality is just meh.
The more power output does matter when you use it with high impedance headphone... such like MDR-7506.
I cannot lay DSD128, but can play DSD64. If it supports DSD128, may I request to fix it. Thank you.
I know someone on Head-Fi.org who confirmed that when you enable AHO (Automatic Headphone Optimization) on the XZ Premium (or any Xperia flagship phone since) when headphones are plugged in, the sound quality noticeably goes up. Also, the upgrade to Oreo 8.0 gave the XZ Premium a nice bump in BOTH volume AND battery life.
Still cannot play DSD 128.
hi there.
i was curious too.
here's something in response to your claim-
"Sony XZ Premium has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.... However, Sony adopts an WCD9335, not the WCD9341 that Qualcomm recommended in XZ Premium."
Above quote taken from http://eng.soomal.com/edoc/10100000150.htm
it will be somewhat a let down cos the reason that i bought this phone is for its highly (marketed) audio quality.
Regarding Qualcomm Aqstic codec WCD 9335. It says:
"Audio playback - 34mW for high performance mode, 6mW low power mode".
Does anyone know how to activate high power mode? I guess it should be related to headphone impedances...?
