Wallpaper turns black

Xz wallpaper turns black

I noticed it recently after that latest 7.1.,1 update. It occurred at the same time the RAM consumption goes up to 2.5 gb . What ever prior wall paper I put it turns black by itself. Restart does not improve the situation. The phone also hangs just for any routine phone use like websurfing, taking photos, uploading pictures,. The phone surface also becomes warm. Is there any remedy for this problem.?

Hi @trashcan, I am sorry to hear about this.

It sounds like some apps might be working your CPU too hard. Did you update all your apps after you updated the phone?

If so, I recommend you test your phone in safe mode and see if you experience the same issue.

Hi Cameron, may I know what specific test I have to conduct in safe mode. I am writing my reply while thus xz us in Safe mode. I tried to upload a a RAM

 After I restarted in normal mode the wall paper goes black again.. I did not update all my apps, in fact I removed some of them such as Facebook, LinkedIn, messaging, etc. Still the same thing I am afraid to conduct software repair as many posters that experience problems with these recent updates did not have positive results. I am certain this is also related to Recent software 7,1.1update.as these weird things didn't happen to me previously.

Same symptom here, aside from lag and rising temperature.

I really hope Sony will patch this ASAP. This experience is horrible. My Android One phone performs better than my XZ now.

@trashcan, basically, just test if you're still getting the lag while you're doing browsing, taking photos etc.

If you are, the software repair using Xperia Companion is the correct next step.

If you are not, then the issue is being caused by a third party app.

Hi Cameron, I did the safemode once more, observe the apps behavior, well it was working normally, but again when I restart to normal mode, the black wall paper remain. Do you know the reason why the wall paper just turn black.?

Same thing happened to me and the phone is lagging like crazy since the last update!

I have tried sort of ideas to resolve it, so far, nothing  worked.. 😞

Same problem after firmware update on my Z5 compact.

Android-OS takes up all memory after some time (currently >1gb), then wallpapers turn black and everything gets very laggy
