Wallpaper turns black

Xz wallpaper turns blackXz wallpaper turns black

I noticed it recently after that latest 7.1.,1 update. It occurred at the same time the RAM consumption goes up to 2.5 gb . What ever prior wall paper I put it turns black by itself. Restart does not improve the situation. The phone also hangs just for any routine phone use like websurfing, taking photos, uploading pictures,. The phone surface also becomes warm. Is there any remedy for this problem.?

If it is behaving normally in safe mode I can only assume there's third party apps are causing the trouble. Exactly what one however, is difficult to say.

It's tedious, but the way to find out is to uninstall apps one by one, until you find the culprit. Alternatively, you can run a software repair using Xperia Companion.

Tedious to say?
I think its your job to find out what it is, we are not installing anything out of Play Store, no unsupported apps or third party apps that are not approved by Google. Also, only the supported apps can be installed via Play Store, so generally there shouldn't be a problem.

Anyways, I came here to make a new thread about this black wallpaper issue and excessive lag and hang, but found this thread already and I'm with the OP. After the newest update, RAM management has gone HAYWIRE and everything causes hang and lag now.

Now before you say this that perform a safe mode check, and do a full software reset, my dearest, I've done it all, we do not have time to do a FULL RESET for every update you release every month, please DOUBLE/TRIPLE check your update before releasing it to public.

AND FIX YOUR RAM management in Nougat, My Xperia XZ was smooth as Butter on Marshmallow.

Or give us a way to go back to it.

I am experiencing the same thing. I have only had the phone for 2 weeks and this crap keeps happening.

I have run it repair software and removed all freaking apps and even disabled you flipping bloatware and still getting massive lag and black wall paper.

I knew I shouldn't have bought another Sony

Uninstalled all apps labeled by x.. Updated to latest firmware version.. Yes, the improvements of RAM process reduction solve the problem.

Same issue here, except wallpaper appears back after a while.

Previous android versions and same apps, no any kind of issue at all.

On going issue with this is that smartlock options disappears...

For the pas few weeks, the wallpaper sometimes is black when I wake up with the Xperia alarm. All I have to do is to flip to another screen where the wallpaper is still present, and then back, and the wallpaper has returned on the central home screen. Maybe this is just a sign that Android Oreo is at the limit of what the XZ, with its Mb, RAM can handle ?
