Still having problems with the SD card.
Latest problem was TomTom app would not launch from initial install with SD card mounted, kept saying no available space (it wouldn't recognise the 40Gb plus on the phone)
Still have problems with Amazon music not being able to read the card, but Amazon video does.
Spotify does not recognise that a card is inserted either.
One idea
On my Xperia X the system did not recognise more than 32G maybe 40G either. (on a 64G SD card)
Photo's are files on SD card and suddenly the system says SD card full, photo's will be saved on internal memory.
What made it stop, I don't know, but the issue resolved itself.
Hi mate,
I am facing similar trouble on the XZ1 Compact.
Card - Samsung Evo Plus 256GB, but I've tried a few others too (Sandisk 8 - 28 GB).
Problems are only with navigation apps.
Google Maps & MapFactor do recognize the SD (and show the amount of free storage), let me even choose it, but both fail to write on it (offline maps).
Though OruxMaps (outdoor navigation) does write (offline maps) on the card and even allows relocating. And so any other app does.
Have had a lot of communication with the support from Sony and the app developers, but completly inconclusive.
Sony asked for the phone to send in for repair, but I denied, because I have no substitute for using.
If I had an offer from Sony to have a look at it I would accept.
Sony Companion can make a backup of your device and I am sure you have a friend that has an older android phone lying around.
Take the chance, you will be happy ever after and besides Sony will be grateful to have the opportunity to have a look at it and bring better products to the market.
Tried 32Gb and 16GB cards, each still not recognised for Spotify & unuseable for Amazon Music, and each app has had several updates
