Google Authenticator (and other OTP generators like Microsoft Authenticator, Lastpass Authenticator) are not generating the correct codes on my Xperia XZ1 Compact anymore. Since I have multiple sites with 2FA authentication enabled, this is not really a fun anymore.
I've tracked down this problem to the Xperia XZ1 Compact that I'm currently using because:
- it was working before on my XZ1 Compact (maybe before the update to android pie)
- It seams not to be a Google Authenticator problem, since other OTP generators I've tried on my device are all generating the same wrong codes.
- On other devices, the OTP generators are generating correct codes.
- It does not seam to be a problem specific to Android Pie, since the OTP generators on at least one other Android Pie System (XIAOMI MI A1) are generating correct codes
So I think this is either a general problem with the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact with Android 9/Pie - or specific to my device. Can anybody else in this community verify this?
