Maybe it could be due to condensation. Keep your phone in dry conditions as much as possible. Also the usb c to 3.5mm adapter came with my xz3 was starting to deteriorate and kept on showing the same message on my screen. Bit of a pain really.

You can buy canned compressed air to clean the USB slot.

Hello everyone and I'm sorry to hear about this. Slightly_frowning_Face

@Scodish09, does this only occur when you are using the 3.5 mm to USB Type-C adapter that was included together with your device, or does it also show up when you for example, is charging the device and the adapter is not connected?

To start with, I would recommend that you get in touch with your Local support team and they will assist you further with having the adapter replaced, so we can make sure that the adapter is not the cause of this.

Let me know how it goes! Slightly_smiling_Face

@Asimw, are you still experiencing this behaviour, or did you have the adapter replaced and it's working now again?

Feel free to let me know how it works now!

I only have the phone charged with the supplied charger and cable over night so I'm not sure what happens then. But saying that the phone charges absolutely fine with no problems.

However, connecting the official sony adapter was causing the phone to show the 'moisture detected message'. The phone and the cable have not been around any wet areas or used in the rain etc.

Subsequently the adapter was starting to wear out causing music to pause automatically.

I have rang Sony support for an replacement but I had to send the supplied adapter in for a repair. I'm really hoping they could give a long last replacement as it only lasted me 2-3 months. The main purpose of buying this phone was for the music.

I have bought a new one from amazon but then I found out most adapters have a dac built in so I can't use the xz3's dac to listen to music which ruins my music experience for me.

So I would appreciate if sony could supply me with a new adapter.

Kind regards.

Asim.

Hi again @Asimw!

Then it sounds like it's the adapter. I'm afraid that I don't have the possibility to send you a new adapter as I work globally and if the Support team in your market said that it has to be sent in to be repaired/replaced, that is how it needs to be handled.

You can of course contact them again and see if they/the service centre can send you a new one and then you send yours in, that way you can still use it to a certain degree while you wait for the replacement.

Sorry that I can't be of more help. Slightly_frowning_Face
