Duplicated system apps

Hi I'm looking for some help, I have a Sony Xperia XZ1 compact and the phone seems to have a bit of a mind of its own, so i downloaded a notification app and it was showing on that, that I was getting duplicate notifications through, tho this wasn't showing on my actual device, then I downloaded an activity monitor app and it also showed all my apps are duplicated, even built in system apps, but this also doesn't shows on my actual device, its like my phone is cloned, as crazy as that may sound, can someone please explain to me what is going on

Today I read about someone who has two versions of Google+ on his phone, so I don't think you are alone in this. In the case of Google+, I know a newly-released version is a substantially rewritten app, so that might have something to do with it.

I'd guess that in your case, the catalog list of apps has been corrupted somehow, and it is only this list which shows duplicates, rather than them actually existing on the phone.
