Audio quality /volume via the USB to 3.5mm adapter?

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on audio volume/clarity through the USB port using the adapter and wired headphones?-especially compared to earlier XZ/XZ1 series flagships?

I can only compare with my old LG G5, which came with a pretty decent DAC out of the box.

I assume the XZ2c is outputting the analog signal through the USB bus, and isn't relying on a DAC in the cable.

For me the sound quality and volume between the G5 and XZ2c with adapter are close to each other.

I have tested with a Sennheiser HD 4.4 BT (with the supplied audio jack) and some cheap JVC Xtreme Xplosives.

And do note that the XZ2c has some software features to enhance the audio, including an equalizer.
