Z1 no stop rebooting

Dear all,

I have buy the brand new Sony Xperia Z1 today, and I was so happy to unbox it and finaly turn it on.

Every was fine and work well with the update of the app, and software (Android and walkman).

I have use it for 1 hour, with the usual reading news and email trough the wifi.

And now the Z1 is no stop rebooting, always more quicker than the reboot before and getting hot aswell. I have made a hard reboot and turn it off.

And wait 1h to turn it on. the same phenomenon occurs... I'm very disappointed by this, and i don't realy want to wait a long time to use this Z1

Regards,

Zoske

I have now a brand new Xperia z1, and done the update directly! Before the first turn on!

Everything works so fine until now, and I'm glad to see how the z1 is so great!

The guy from the shop told me, that the Xperia products is very well made and have the lowest percent of malfunction regarding the others brands!

1 of 50 is bugging or with dead pixels and so on!

I was just unlucky this time, but now everything is fine!

For the photo quality, I must do some test and try to the manual settings to improve the results! Will see and hope to see android 4.3 and 4.4 very soon

I've been using my Z1 for the last three days and since yesterday the phone is rebooting like crazy. Apart from this very disappointing issue; I've been having other problems, too that I thin may be related:

1. From time to time the phone behaved as if it is turned off. No incoming calls accepted, no incoming SMS delivered.

2. Although Data Traffic is enabled, sometimes 3G is not activated after turning of Wi-Fi. Had to restart to get it back on.

3. Finally the messy reboot problem: After a reboot, the phone turns on, displays SONY/XPERIA and the animation and after some time the home screen comes up; but with a completely black background. All widgets and shortcuts/applications are intact, can be clicked and navigated, and everything just seems to work. But this only lasts for about 15-20 seconds. Then the phone reboots and the cycle continues. If I let this to go on and if I get lucky, the phone sometimes boots normally after many tries. I can use it normally for some time and all of a sudden I see the phone is not accepting incoming calls and there is no 3G and I reboot and we are back to the same reboot cycle.

I have used the Software Update Service, updated to the latest firmware version 14.1.G.2.257 and reverted back to the factory settings. I removed the SIM card and also the SD card; updated/repaired using SUS again but after the update only the first power up is normal; event without any SIM or SD and pure factory setting the reboot issue still comes back.

I have no other ideas about what else to do or try and got it back for service after just three days. Very disappointing indeed for such a high class premium phone!

What Apps have you installed?

This may sound ridiculous but I installed some free Apps for my son to play with and I had to delete them.

They either sent my phone into a crazy reboot frenzy or froze it up completely!

Naturally I have deleted them and no issues since!

I had the usual apps I've been using with my previous Xperia. I did though read some posts mentioning that the issue may be related to some incompatible application; that's why I have also done a factory reset. Continuous rebooting happened even after the factory reset so I hardly think any app is responsible for this behavior. After the factory reset all I have left are the built-in apps...

I suspect this to be either a hardware problem or a very serious issue with the latest firmware...
