Xperia z3v should reconnect to home wi-fi on it own?

Brand new Z3V and found that I can connect to my home wi-fi (or any other wi-fi) without problems; but when I leave and return home-I have to to manually reconnect.  Shouldn't this phone connect automatically on it own or do I have to reconnect it everytime?  

I've searched and cannot find a solution and this is a pain having to connect everytime.  Thanks for any help.

If stamina is enabled,wifi will be disabled if you leave your home. See in power management,there is an option called wifi by location.

Stamina is off and never turned on. I don't have a power management option, unsure what you mean. Any other ideas?

No such thing on this phone as you are describing. FunnY,because Sony cannot figure out their own phone. Thanks for trying to help but thinking I made the mistake with this purchase.

Wifi by location was removed in 5.0. I believe you don't have the update on your Z3v,do you?

Once connected to the desired Wi-Fi network, open Settings -> Wi-Fi, tap and hold on your Wi-Fi network and make sure that the option of "Auto-connect" is checked.
