All of a sudden my Sony Xperia Z3's touch screen is not functioning.
I have a non-passcode / 'swipe to unlock' setting on. My phone's touch screen is not recognising my swipe, therefore not allowing me to unlock my phone.
What now?
What caused this to happen?
(I am an Optus mobile customer)
Thanks in advance.
Darren
Boot in safe mode, see if the same occurs:

Same problem exists.
I just noticed that there a few new small cracks on the screen! The phone was just in my pocket on it's own!!! **bleep**!?
Could this be the cause?
I have already had a faulty Sony Xperia Z3 that I I had replaced (via Optus) - the last one wouldn't stop vibrating, even when powered down.
What now?! I am really losing patience with the issues I am having with my Sony phones. I would like some quick help. Please!
Sorry, those cracks could be the reason for the problem you have.
So what now?
I have seen (via numerous internet pages, blogs and Facebook pages even now - within 5 minutes of searching) that cracks are commonly occuring in Sony Xperia Z3 phones where there is no force / abuse of the phone, as in my case.
I have a phone protector and screen cover properly fitted. I will not accept fault for this issue.
Is there a forum where Sony offers support and service, or do I need to go back to Optus?
You should call or visit the closest Sony Repair center. http://www.sonymobile.com Choose your country then support. If your warrenty is valid, they will fix it for you or give you a new one.
If you have items on the phone you need access to then use a USB OTG cable and USB mouse to take control of the touch function
I first had the touch screen not working issue about a month ago (only had my Xperia Z3 for two month plus), did a repair using Sony PC Companion and it worked fine. Until two days ago I have the same problem again! Did another software reinstallation but it doesn't seems to help. My phone is now working at times and unresponsive otherwise. This is so frustrating...
