Hi I got my Xperia XZ yesterday and it is a wonderful handset. Unfortunately I am having a major issue that I believe could be a software fault and I will have to return the handset to my network for a replacement.
I got it late last night so I didn't get much chance to play with it. However today whilst trying to respond to emails/text messages i noticed that the bottom row of letters does not work. If I try to press any of them it puts a character from above or above the row instead this also happens with backspace which goes to the smiley section.
I don't think it's an issue with the touchescreen itself as this portion of the screen works fine when web browsing or any other usage of the handset.
I tried alternative keyboards such as swype and also the standard google keyboard and all had the same issue although to a lesser degree than the bundled swift keyboard. I have also tried restarting the device and resetting it to factory defaults and the issue persists when using any keyboard.
Unfortunately this has rendered the handset useless to me and I have had to revert to my galaxy s6 as I need to respond to a lot of emails during work.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'll stick it out until the weekend when I can get into town and then hopefully EE will be able to replace it in store.
Thanks in advance.
Tony
Could you test it in safe mode and also
settings > about phone > diagnostics > test > test touchscreen.
I think it's a hardware issue, you could repair it with XC but you might want to exchange it
