Unwanted strange notification!

Hi,

I have c5 ultra dual. From some time now, I have been receiving some type of really offending notifications my phone, I don't know how to identify its source.

I receive it every now and then randomly. Because it not any app related, I think it is received whenver my phone is connected to the Internet(which is almost always).

Am therefore requesting to please, help me in identifying why it coming to phone and more importantly how to get rid of it. It has really frightened me so much so, that I keep my phone disconnected from internet, which I don't like.

When you get it next, hold your finger on the notification to see which app is the source.

Yes, that's what needs to be done. I have learned that, the notification template needs to be long pressed/ touched. While earlier I used to do a simple/ short touch it simply disappears.

Sorry to hear about the notification, so I can try help as much as possible are you able to supply me the content of the notification, such as what it says when it does pop up?

Since I was able to get a photograph of it I am posting it here itself.

It appears bright on my lock screen where the expected notifications are dimmer and also long press on it not doing anything.

I reads " in the colourful rain season some friend is remembering you so come call the number displayed"

Ii would like to state that different types of messages are sent at different times( there had been worse) but a number always comes with it.

I really hope you are able to help me in getting rid of it

@Pp30 This is rather strange, I cannot say that I have come across a notification such as this. It doe's however, seem to be related to an application on the phone.

My suggestion would be to boot to Safe mode, see if the notification appears, if it does not, then you know this is being caused by an installed app.

From here you would need to go through your apps and remove them to try to find the culprit.

That's gonna be one of those really (Not) helpful task killers or battery optimising apps that think sticking an overlay on lockscreen is helpful.

thanks for reply. i dont have any such app. but have avg protection. the cleanmaster app which was preinstalled, i had deleted long long ago. 

i had given it for service, it was swtiching off by itself hope they are able to identify and rectify it.
