Xperia X8 with Android 2.2 and above?

Hi,

I own the amazing K750i, still in love with the phone but planning to upgrade to a many-in-one device.

I don't want to carry a music player, GPS, camera, FM radio and phone as separate devices and I found X8 as one of the few phones which looks good as well as have all the mentioned functions available for a reasonable rate. (I read others are kind of hyped, tying to keep up with the selling price of iPhone).

K750i was good because I could customize it a lot.

But Alas!! Android 1.6 for Xperia X8?

Questions:

1. Is upgrade possible to Android 2.2 (Froyo) or above? (2.1 is still not good as I cannot move apps to SD card)

    (For K750i I got 2 firmware updates at least!!)

2. Can multiple playlists be created for the music you have on the phone? (I hear music from around 6 different languages)

3. Is there a limit on the number of applications that can be installed? (Other that internal memory (128MB) which 2.2 or above can solve)

4. Will there be a X8 Pro or something of that sort soon for a slightly higher price tag? (Possibly a black model with 2.2 and a camera flash +)

    (I know this cannot be answered now, but out of curiosity...)

5. With there be more talk time and standby time with Android 2.1 and above?

All the guys are waiting for the firmware? ))) And I already sold my X8 and quietly saving up to Nokia to WHP7 this fall ... So far I use a copy of the iPhone H2000 same thing, but Androyd 2,2)))
While SE brakes, all the Chinese are buying phones for Androyd 2.2 ...

if you read above, the X8, x10 mini and x10 mini pro are dead, there wont be any further updates

Name of used flash is Leopard-0.7.8.  This flash for X8 works very good and fast.

She befits also for XPERIA X10 mini. All functions works very well.

Hi friends,

No need to wait for Sony update. They either dont have half the confidence in their own hardware or just rying to make money by giving us phones with excellent hardware and very outdated software.

I am through with my 4 months of testing of the X8's capabilities on Gingerbread 2.3.3 and was very satisfied except for the screen going off to sleep for about 5-10 mins during the call (some issue with proximity sensor) and also FM and GPS wasnt working. And the occasional FC restarts.

So yesterday downgraded to racht's (Android 2.2.9 Floyo v0.30)

and to think I almost sold this phone for $30

Idk why but if you look on gsm arena phone specs you can notice a major modification : OS : Android OS, v1.6 (Donut), upgradable to v2.3.

i wonder if this is true SE update

I lost the hope in SE and the upgrade of X8 to android 2.2.

Can you tell me how upgrade the X8 to 2.2? the vidio looks so good.
