Hi, everyone I have an experia x10 mini pro and I am having problems with charging it. Sometimes it would charge then sometimes it wouldnt and it is already annoyying the hell out of me. Another problem with it is that when I play music with it, it would just suddenly turn off by itself. I've tried to send it for fixing to sony ericson but they said that the problem is unfixable. And I only had my phone for 1 and a half month and im already having this problem. I tried to reason with the ericson people but they said there is nothing they could do.
If anyone has any idea on how to fix this. can u help me? thanks.
A simple answer is that maybe the problem lies with your charger not working, and not your phone? There's an easy test for that: just plug the phone into a USB port on a computer using the cable from the charger, and select the "charge" option on the phone's screen. Does it charge then? If yes, the problem lies with your charger, and not the phone, and you need to either buy a new charger or just charge via USB (a slow process, unfortunately).
However, if that doesn't work either, and you do think it might be a problem with your battery, you can try running a service test of your battery. You do that by making sure your keypad is locked but active (press the power button once to lock, and then press the Menu centre button once - don't swipe to unlock). After the screen comes to life, press: Menu Back Back Menu Back Menu Menu Back
Select "Service tests" and "Battery test". Your phone will warn you that the test will take several hours ... go for it
Maybe it tells you something useful?
Cheers, it got sent away 3 times and they said they ran every test possible to the phone and individualy tested the charger and acording to them all was working fine... Will have to try give that a try!
I have exactly the same problem although it seems that it doesn't charge far more often than it does. Often looks like it is charging: red light flashes/charge symbol comes up on the screen but it doesn't actually do it. Yesturday, first day in last five it actually charged however whilst plugged in 'charging' over night it ran out of battery(!) and died.
Nothing wrong with my charger/battery tried them in/on other phones and they work first time everytime.
From what I have read this is a systemic problem in the X10 mini pro but SE are not recognising it as such. SE appear to be shutting their eyes and hoping that this problem disappears.
Going to send my phone off to be repaired but assume it will return to me with the same problem. Never buying SE again.
i am having the same problem too. i updated my software thinking that this would solve it but no. i tried my sister's charger, she has an x10 mini but no pro, and it worked once. so i know that it isnt the charger because two chargers can't be faulty, they work for my sister. i think that it is the usb port on my phone or something because it charges when it wants to. its so annoying :@ its plugged in now and not charging...
i have never had a problem with sony erricson until now, thats why i got this one...
all their phones have always lasted me years, and theyv only died because of my fault, such as leaving it outside in the rain..
Yeah I hear ya, untill now I was a big fan of SE phones. Mine has been on the charger for days an no response what so ever now. I had it sent away to be fixed 3 times and all 3 it got sent back saying it was fine. I wrote and anrgy email to the shop I got it from about 2 weeks ago and have still not heard back!
my x10 is doing the same thing and o2 wont fix it they are saying it is water damaged and it isnt i think all these phones have the same problem an se arent owning up to it as it will cost them money!!!!
If the place where you bought it from aren't helping, i would suggest to contact your local Sony Ericsson service center for possible repair options.
I bought my experia x10 mini pro only 3 weeks back. Yesterday it ran completely out of power, and now when I connect it to a power source, only a red LED is blinking. I left it plugged for hours and still it is not getting charged. When I unplug it and try to boot it, LED flashes thrice randomly and goes blank afterwards.
However when I connect it back, the LED starts to blink again periodically.
Pls help
Some suggestions for you.
Press and hold HOME (the center silver button) together with the ON/OFF button.
Remove battery, re-insert it and power on again.
If still unable to 'revive' your phone, charge it for a few hours (could be out of juice) and try starting it up again.
Good luck.
