Xperia U volume issue

Hi,

The ringtone/speaker volume of my new Xperia U is very low. Is there any way this issue can be resolved?

I got the Experia U 3 days ago and I must say I am really disappointed with the speaker volume, have missed a lot of calls due to this.

It is difficult to fathom that a brand that popluarised music on the go with its Walkman brand has f***ed up on this very basic phone utility.

I did the *#*# thing and also checked if there was a plastic film on the speakers but looks like I will have to just live with this. What a shame for an otherwise amazing phone. I think a recall or atleast an explanation from Sony is in order.

very true i feel the same bro even i swear i also thought n took off its cover to see if a plastic could be on the speaker but was not. I bought it for my sister but what a big disappointment, its not a "phone" but rather just a dummy to play games!! have posted alot on sony mobile, sony mobile in, e-mailed them, talked about consumer court complaint if they don't reply... but they are not replying atall!! as posted earlier i mean can u believe it?? I called sony customer care and the rep said he can understand my situation as he is also using the same xperia u and facing this problem aswell..!! oh my god! pathetic!!

Sorry but please let me express, that to add all about sony the main issues.... my xperia arc s is great but heats up badly from front and back.....

On Gsm Arena reviews of Xperia Sola, it got less scores on its speaker volume than Xperia U, which means even being expensive than Xperia U its worse than Xperia U's speaker..... http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_u-review-770p4.php (scroll little down and see ringing phone, db and overal scores)

Then No disrespect Xperia S's sensitive buttons are not that responsive i checked its live demo phone and see this video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4HLniX86fE (see from 1.25 onwards a little, what that guy is doing and says) even i felt as i remember when i used it, its not responsive as xperia u's buttons are even being made the same way.

I mean wt fish man ??

Sony just trying to sell their things and then behaving like they don't know us, like after their item being sold they saying to us who are you, we dont know you?!

i am saying this as on facebook many really many people have issues i havn't seen a single reply from sony to them including me.... And when someone asks them about a phone like when is it going to be released? where can i buy it? or what is its price i want to buy it? etc questions like this, then definately there is a reply by sony on that post/comment on facebook .

they are downgrading themselves!!

Nope. I talked to sony mobile manager on this, he said go to service centre as they hav a different firmware of it, get it updated and if u still face problem u can get doa of it and get ur handset replaced.. So i went to a service centre got it flashed, everything the firmware version everything was still the same nothing new nothing unchanged, crackling sound was still there(they just did a repair of it probably), Some songs playing fine some playing crackling. Songs were fully fine 320 kbps quality and plays perfect on my arc s .. Even the service centre people admitted the problem still happening. Maybe sony people just wanted me to once take it to a service centre so that service centre guy tells the manager that is the problem really there or not.... so it was still there and manager told me to get the doa and get a new handset.... Before doing that i went to try demos of xperia u that are available in shops.... so sent few songs in them and saw the problem was with every other xperia u i checked aswell, exactly the same prob..... so i dropped the idea of getting it replaced as i will still get the same thing. So its obvious its speaker is of low quality like example if a song or the music player's equalizer of xperia u has 40 type of tunes to produce out of the song (like all details of it like bass, treble, vocal, etc), but this speaker can only produce 30 of it, something like that n main issue is with its xloud ... its an issue with the sony music player not matching with its loud speaker for sure... not happy atall with this! I would suggest song to make its player or equalizer equivalent to the phone's speaker aswell.. so if we play songs on its speaker it plays fine and loud keeping xloud on, in its next update that will be of ics i guess . As keeping xloud off then every song plays fine but lol so low that anyone can never hear it outside, so keeping xloud on in this phone is a must and should be fixed!

Gutted...

Just bought this phone for my Mum,

Looks the part,

Feels Great,

Slick Screen,

But I have the sound issue even on call quality level rather than Music...

and then in this thread I come across the same failure to back-up etc as mentioned here...

Not the simple, fault free phone I had hoped to bring her into the 20th century with after all Slightly_frowning_Face

I'll make the checks mentioned in a bit, but it looks like thye wont make any difference anyway ...

Shame..

Oh and had to turn off the background noise filter as it gave horrendous echo a second later... perfect without though Smiling_Face_with_open_mouth_&_closed_Eyes

I recently bought the phone and speaker quality surprisingly suboptimal. I already have6.0.b.1.564 build and problem is still there. I can live with little bit of low volume but its the quality of the speaker while playing music that is unsatisfactory. You guys are just facing issue with volume level or is it sound quality? Quality is top knoch with headset though.

Its the quality of the sound.  . Wen the volume is set to maximum there is a cracling sound and tat is the issue.  .

we are all talking about its rear loud speaker, as its a "phone" first (to be able to hear the ringtone and pick up a call), but they made it like a dummy dual core to play just games, etc .
