Xperia U GPS Precision

I have buyed a sony xperia u but the GPS fix is too long and when it fixed my position the precision is too bad like altitude negative! I tried to change the phone and restore but the problem remain, any suggestion?

It's sound like software problem, it's possible?

I used GpsFix and GPS Status apps from google play.

Even i am facing similar issue. When i was using the default OS .156 then it was working fine but after upgrading it to .184 this problem started up. When i try to use maps and try to locate my co-ordinates then it asks me to enable the location services i.e. GPS and when i switch it on it says 'your location is temporarily not available'. I too suspect that it is unable to connect to the satellites properly coz i got this error even when i was in an open space with no signal drop. This seems to be a S/W bug and as mentioned above should probably be resolved in ICS update. Eagerly waiting for ICS !! :smileygrin:

Hey,

I have the same GPS problem with Xperia go. Solution could be to use “GPS Test” app. In the settings it has ‘Clear AGPS’/ ‘Update AGPS’ buttons. Today my mobile was unable to connect to GPS for more than 10min. After Clear/Update AGPS it took less than 3 min to get decent connection.

Had the same problem as most people GPS fix taking upto an hour, on XPERIA U,

Well  went to the PLAY STORE  had a look round tried different Apps and one that seems to work great for me is called    TRACKERBOOSTER  when i run this i get a fix within a couple of minutes

give it a ago guys its free.

Using tool GPS TEST i see that i catch 7-8 sattelites with less than 1 minute    With French ICS I had the same problem as you - 3 minutes, 7-8 sattelites found but GPS still wasn't connected

if rooted u can use FastGPS app.
