Xperia T Wont Charge/Turn On

Had the T for around 4 days on contract with T Mobile.

The phone was working fine, until today when i finished work, found out the phone was dead.

Having had a blackberry before this and i was able charge the phone from my cd player in the car, i did the same with this.

Phone charged, but then suddenly it was on 0% charge, phone died.

Tried powering it back on and all i got was flashing red lights.

I dont know how to reset the phone etc.

Managed on the off chance to get the phone past the start screen, but whenever i swipe the screen, all it says is "Android System".

Help Anyone?

Im waiting for managaer of Tmobile to retun my call. I doubt they will. They are looking at exchanging if they have stock, but i dont want Sony. Never never ever again. My old Moto Defy was more stable! Terrible. And SBE ltd were useless on the phone so have to go through Tmobile.

Out of interest heres the conversation in regards the Sony Experia T. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY WITH THESE PHONES.

I bet the Experia Z will be just as poor. Certainly I wouuldnt try pooring water on it!

SONY: I want a new handset not one that has been opened up several times since January the 2nd when it was ordered.  Your service staff seem to have no idea of the problem. Is is deep discharge? Does the phone have Deep Discharge circuit to stop the battery being drained to far. I bet all SBE did was pop in a new battery? You need to sort this out, or send me another so called "flagship".....

Sony transcript:

You have now been connected to an agent.

Hayley: Hi John, thank you for contacting Sony Xperia UK Chat Support. My name is Hayley, please could I take your full name and email address?

john grant: john grant, xxxxxxx

Hayley: Thank you, how can I help you today?

john grant: hello, my experia t has recently been repaired via sbe ltd. now the phone has gone bad again. wont turn on, nothing..exactly the same. whats wrong with these experia t's?

Hayley: Ok, I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with the handset. What happens when you try to switch the phone on?

john grant: nothing, there are no leds, the vibration isnt there. Its as if the battery is in deep discharge?

john grant: its plugged in now. as good as dead.

Hayley: Have you tried force restarting the phone by holding down the power key and the volume 'up' together?

john grant: yes nothing im afraid

Hayley: Ok, I'd first suggest that you try reinstalling the software to your handset. This can be done with the phone switched off using the Update Service program here:

The agent is sending you to http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/Software%20Downloads/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.12.5.exe.

john grant: ive tried this but doesnt work

Hayley: What happens?

john grant: nothing at all

Hayley: What happens when you try and run that link above to your phone?

john grant: the software is ok, but the phone doesnt react

Hayley: Have you tried running this since this problem occured today?

john grant: yep, had the software from before, but its as if the battery has been taken out and just the shell is left (obviously i cant take the battery out) just trying to describe the way it is..?

Hayley: Ok, if you are unable to do this the next thing would be to send the phone for repair to be examined by an engineer.

Hayley: Would you like me to provide you with details on how to do this?

john grant: is this with SBE Ltd?

Hayley: They are our repair centre, yes.

john grant: right ok. I have been speaking with Tmobile at the same time, they have arranged a bad to be sent out to me again. But im really unsure about this handset. I think i have a bad one here. Its seems very common on your forums of this problem. How do i get this exchanged?>??

Hayley: The manufacturers warranty would cover a repair so we wouldn't be able to offer an exchange, if you did want to pursue this you would need to do so with your retailer.

john grant: ok tmobile are suggesting that is in the hands of SBE ltd. OK thanks for you assistance.

Hayley: I hope the information I have given answers your query John. Is there anything else I can help you with?

john grant: to organise the repair with you, do you simply send a repair bag out in the same way tmobile do?

Hayley: We don't send out envelopes, you would need to obtain a padded envelope and send the phone away using our freepost address.

Hi:

I saw all post and I have not a correct solution. The LED is flashing every 3 second since 14 hours. I connecte to the pc and wall (45 mins) and I have not answer from T. I press "power on" boton; "power on" + "volume +"; "power" + "volume -"

I download teh "update service" but the T is dead.

I was using Sony from 7 years and this it is a "BAD device". Please, I need your help. Tks

I had the same issue with my T a month or so ago, in the end it seemed to resolve itself after I left it on charge for about 2 days.

Shame it's now bricked after a software update.

Had my experia t was replaced after the first one was repaired and this one is ok is. But I still complained to my retailer and they are changing it to a Samsung galaxy s3 tomorrow.  This has a bad camera awful contrast problems and looking at key bean update riddled with problems. I like it but won't miss it..

Hi, I'm having problems with my Sony Xperia T charging. It has been a bit temperamental all week, then last night wouldn't charge at all (was on 57%). I tried plugging it into my laptop but it didn't work. I was about to give up when suddenly it started working. charged fine over night. I used it a bit this morning so went to charge it again, and it didn't work again. Will go into an O2 shop today as that's who I bought it with, but does it sound like a hardware problem? Something not connecting properly inside the phone with the charger? It's pretty new, got it about 2 months ago.

Restarting the phone usallly helps. If not. take it to O2.

I had the same problem twice (Xperia T not turning on). First time sent back to the Vodafone to get fixed, second time followed these instructons and it worked for me:

  1. When 0% battery and auto power off, if you press the power button, the LED light should flash quickly a few times and off.
  2. Now press and hold the power button and when LED is still flashing, plug in the charger (use wall charger not USB on PC). You should remain holding the power button, otherwise the LED will turn off and no charging again.
  3. After about 5 min, it will be charged to a minimum amount required to boot and the screen will be turned on. Now press the volume up key while still holding power button to reset the phone.
