Had the T for around 4 days on contract with T Mobile.
The phone was working fine, until today when i finished work, found out the phone was dead.
Having had a blackberry before this and i was able charge the phone from my cd player in the car, i did the same with this.
Phone charged, but then suddenly it was on 0% charge, phone died.
Tried powering it back on and all i got was flashing red lights.
I dont know how to reset the phone etc.
Managed on the off chance to get the phone past the start screen, but whenever i swipe the screen, all it says is "Android System".
Help Anyone?
have you had the phone back yet? did sbe ltd provide the repair? mine has been sent today to them through t mobile
hi mate,
got it back, same problems. Off to repair centre again. Fed up. Bought myself HTC One X plus. No more Sony, toooo much bugs
did 3 uk change it? im prepared for complaining to tmobile if needed
No, I went and bought HTC for cash with 2 years of warranty. I'm still fighting with Three, waiting for complains dept to get back to me. No more Sony phones, I lost too much time sorting all bugs out. Noone pays me for that. I written a little article why I went for HTC One x plus. Will send you that in the moment
Today I have finished testing my new phone HTC One X Plus, very pleased with overall result.
This is it, I'm not coming back to my Xperia T with all it's bugs. Once I get replacement of it I flog it on Ebay for whatever, it was my first and last Sony phone. Good bye Sony.
What made me to choose HTC One X Plus and to sell my Xperia T for peanuts (just about what it's really worth)
All about HTC One X Plus
Picture quality is good, with sharpening set too hash by default, but it has an option to adjust it and with -1,-2 it's just fine.Noise reduction on high ISO (max ISO is 800) is a bit too aggressive, hope they will add feature to control it in future. Haven't tested video recording properly yet. Process of taking photos is blazingly fast, thanks to dedicated image chip. Focusing locks dead on and overall accuracy is great. Low light focusing is fine too, thanks to f/2.0 lens. I haven't tested it on 3rd party apps, it would be nice to see output. Camera has good set of as you go (live) filters and its real fun to use them.
Phone is fast, very fast! Even when I turned off two cores of CPU in order to be more power efficient I didn't spot any difference in speed change. It has movie editor on it which is fun to use and on quad core processor it renders and processes 1080i impressively fast.
I really liked Xperia T audio quality and One X Plus has it as strong point too. Beats power amp does its job well, producing very powerful and clean output. Hence, there is no EQ, only on and off for Beats amp, so I had to download EQ app for that. Xperia T output wasn't really loud at all.
Battery capacity is 2100mAh and I managed to pull 20 hrs out of it while was absolutely abusing it
(Photos, Videos, Video editing, music, browsing and downloading apps). I went to sleep at 3am and continued test at 10am. Well impressed with battery life. Xperia T has 1850 mAh battery and very power hungry screen.
Display is 4.7 inches, same 720 resolution as Xperia T (4.55 inch @ 324ppi) with little bit lower pixel density 312 ppi. Human eye can define pixels only up to 300ppi :smileyhappy:. Color reprodustion is geat with close to reality saturation (not like Samsung's AMOLED) and accurate white balance. Viewing angles are best I ever saw on mobile screens and screen performs really well in direct sunlight. Good thing is HTC have implemented hardware back/home/tasks buttons, so you getting 100% of 4.7 inch of your screen estate without wasting it for software buttons. One of my findings was that IPS LCD2 display doesn't drain battery as Xperia T or my Motorola's TFT displays and is not power hungry at all (well done HTC)!!!
Phone built quality is great too, very solid, made of one chunk of polycarbonate plastic without any squicky parts. Camera lens little bit off center of camera window, I found that is a design flow and doesn't get in a way while using camera. Phone is light for 4.7'' screen phone (135g) slim and fits in the pocket comfortably.
I still like Xperia T, design, features, hardware, software and etc. But I had too much problems with it: RAM management problems, camera crushes, ruined images on SD card, Walkman failure, USB connector failure, phone not starting up when discharged... This list is endless. It is too lousy to be James Bond's phone. Sony is not Sony Ericsson anymore and I don't believe they can make good reliable phones now. Research team is not listening to their customers anymore. If they carry on like that whole Sony Mobile division will end up in the ditch... It's sad to see it happening. They forgot main thing: Phone has to be reliable workhorse as many people like me do depend on being accessible and to be able to access outside world.
Best wishes
glas you got something you can use. I cant afford to buy another phone, hence i took the contract on again. Was going to get the N4 on giffgaff but this came up on offer and until I have it back from service, i feel ripped off.
I cant comment any further until SBE have returned the phone. But what I have found SBE have had a few complaints against them but couple of years ago, so hopefully they have sorted out their quality.
lets hope
John
Hi,
Sorry it took me so long to post/reply. I went to the shop and because ive had it for two days! they just replace it with another one.... (good).
So, I charged it, used it as much as i could and deliberately left it to drain until it switched off itself, I connected it to the charger and voila, it just did what i had to do. So, I'm guessing its a problem with the battery in 'some' of them. ?! I wouldnt think is anything to do with the firmaware because ive got the two phones within days and installed exactly the same updates, one of them had the problem the other one is perfectly fine. Hope you get yours sorted!
I read that someone else went with HTC, the thing is, I used to have HTC HD Desire which i really liked but needed to change. Two close people of mine has had real issues with the latest HTCs, which is why i went with Sony. Anyway... mine is ok, so far. Fingers crossed for mine to continue working and yours to get fixed!
well it arrived with them wednesday and now says with Repair technician 11.36. Apparantly after speaking with them, its going through the QA checks. There are no notes as to what they have done to it yet.
If this lasts hardly anytime again, then I will deman Tmobile to replace the handset or offer a different model altogether.
Time will tell, but I will keep this topic updated.
got the phone back which is now working. Took overall 9 days including weekends to return. But Ive notice the wifi keeps dropping at home. Its ok when the wireless AP is next to it. But its still not very stable. Normal mobile data network is ok and is steady but my Wi-Fi is very low, where as my PC and other devices have good signal strength. Currently the phone is reporting aroun -80db and drops. Its ok when its closer which increases to around -35 > -40db and seems a little steadier. Installing a 5GHZ network to see if that improves things, but nothing has changed since sending this back. Do you think that SBE have not reinstalled the antenna very well inside the phone? We have had simular problems at work with our touch panels and also laptops where the antenna has not been fixed back around the screen very well? Happy with the repair, but dissapointed with the signal quality on the Wi-Fi....:smileyangry:
EDIT:
My wireless router to blame more than anything. I hooked up a anothe one and test the 5GHZ band, works with full signal. Fine at work also on 2.4GHX. My router is a Linksys/Cisco wireless router. Cant remember the model but remember reports that the wireless isnt very good! All is well so far.
THE BLOODY PHONE HAS GONE BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had it back from SBE ltd, and the crap that this T is, Dead once more. Fine this morning. 47% charge. Got to work. Dead! WTF
I dont want this back. Its S**t!
VERY VERY VERY MAD!
