Xperia T Battery drain

i have had my phone for 8 months now and to be honest, its starting to do my head in. if it isnt crashing multiple times a day,  the battery drains so quick even after charging for half an hour it will not switch back on! i have got on to my carrier but they arent helping, saying to back up my content and restore....after doing this three times it still isnt helping!! now i'm getting pretty sick of it.
