XPERIA SP CAMERA PROBLEM.

I am having a Sony Xperia SP and what i feel about the camera is worst.On zooming the photograph it is blur....

need some help from sony side to improve the camera quality of the phone. either by some software update or something else.

I was dying from a dilemma between buying the Xperia SP and the Xperia V, until i compared the photo quality between the two phones.

The Xperia V:

Although the water and dust resistance are really cool features from the V,
I don't think I will benefit from it greatly as it is really just a "bonus" to me when compared to the V's other awesome specs.  I am attracted to its slim and light design as well as its replaceable battery feature.  It is a very decent design until I got my eyes on the SP.

The Xperia SP:
I am immediately captivated by the beautiful appearance of every detail of the phone's build.  The specs (i.e. CPU, GPU) are also slightly more advanced than that of V.  The scratch-resistant glass monitor and a larger and more vibrant screen makes me want to buy this phone immediately.

However, when I compared the photo quality of these two phones, I was completely disappointed with what the SP produced with its camera.  If just the SP can produce better pictures, it will be a PERFECT phone to buy.

Just why would Sony allow these defects to exist?  The potential ultimate best buy mid-range priced phone is now restrained by its fingerprint magnet monitor and a camera that is total crap.  I really hope that Sony can do something to fix this problem ASAP.

Now I am considering buying the former flagship, Xperia V instead of the brand new Xperia SP.

Yes it's clearly a software issue. I had 'xperia u' With android 2.3 . It took awesome pics.

Then I updated to android 4.0. Xperia u lost all its photo quality. I tried posting problems on Sony forums, but No use. I was not able to tolerate the poor quality pics so I downgraded it to android 2.3 again and got back the great quality pictures. .

I came to a conclusion that updating the phone to android4.0 was the problem and I hoped that if the xperia was android 4.0 manufacture installed the camera would be in its original awesome quality. So I waited a year and now got 'xperia sp' for its awesome GPU . It's a great phone But iam very very very disappointed with its camera quality. It's the worst. For this budget I expected a great picture but all I found was the same worst quality pictures which I got from xperia u after upgrading it to android 4.0.

Xperia cameras are so much better with android 2.3

If there was a way to infuse just the camera drivers softwares in to android4.1.2 the problem is solved. It's all upto Sony to do this .

Samsung's picture quality is so much better. Am just jealous.

As in another post Rickard from Sony said "but we have forwarded alot of feedback regarding the camera so try updating your phone if you haven't tried that."

Update your phone and see if it helps... em waiting for the update too... currently on .257 and camera is no better

Well I received my xperia sp on Friday and i've been testing it . THE CAMERA IS JUST HORRIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . It is going back ! . I really don't know what is wrong with sony, what are they trying to do !!

For want of only a gaming phone,i purchased this mobile with the slightest of satisfaction that it is having 8 mega pixel camera which would not let Me down even though it could not perform wonders....i like this phone very much in every aspects except For the camera that's terribly worse even after update.. Battery back up is something i never thought would be this better... But 3.5 hours or little less to charge fully from 0%. However the camera was so worse ... And oh well wifi reception too is poor... But still it's value For the money.. But a 5mega pixel camera may sometimes perform better than xperia sp on some occasions.... Plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz help with updates that improve camera and Wi-Fi...

Here also, I knew camera wasnt great but hoped on acceptable... This isn't; its just crap. My problem probably goes to sony repair for wifi (for what its worth); maybe my camera gets fixed magically?

I just paid 450.00 euro for my sp and oh my god it has the wrost camera I have ever seen on a smart phone. The camera noise is crazy. All my pics look like I was shaking all over the place.my old galaxy s2 takes far superior pics than my new Xperia sp. Sony moblie you guys need to fix this a.s.a.p

I wonder why have they specified it as an 8 mp camera, when my Sony Ericsson Elm(5mp) takes much better images than this. You should not keep your customers in dark. I was a big Sony fan..yes, I was.
