my xperria s on ics (4.0.4) will occassional(about once per day) stop sending data through the data connection.
The H is still there but i can no longer receive data, i can even send a ping request out.
i try disable/renenable data, turn aeroplane mode on/off, try reset apn, try reselecting carrier network nothing.
if i enable wifi, it data works through wifi, if i disable wifi the 'h' comes back but no data goes through.
as soon as i reboot the phone the data connection starts working again any ideas?
I downloaded net swiss tool free to try and test
but it operates as if data connection is completely disabled. no ping no nothing, if i look at netcfg it shows rmnet0 as up
its very annoying.
Sorry to hear this.
I suggest you try to repair the software using PC Companion just to make sure it's not a software bug in your phone. Also, if possible, insert a different SIM card and see if this triggers a change or not.

Hi Berserkk,
Just to let you know that my Xperia S has also been doing this since the ICS upgrade, so I'm assuming it's a general bug and not something peculiar to your device.
Sony Xperia Support, is there somewhere we can submit a bug report so this can be looked into? Or maybe there is already a thread somewhere and we can +1 it to up the priority?
Thanks,
Ed.

Agreed, rvdv. I got to this thread via Google & only found the other one after perusing the forum.

Like you can read on the other thread check the APN settings and try a different (NEW SIM card)
also are you using a micro SIM card or did you cut a SIM card, if the later, then, most likely that's the problem

Thanks for your response uliwooly.
We'll continue the discussion in the other thread, but to reply to your suggestions it was a new micro SIM that came with the phone and I have tried all of the 'fixes' listed in other forums including downloading the APN settings from both Sony and my network (Orange UK).
It seems pretty clear to me that this is a bug in ICS (and not necessarily the Sony ROM) so lets see how the other thread pans out.
Cheers,
Ed.
