xperia p notification problem

day b4 yesterday i updated my xperia p to ICS. till now all went good but just 10 min b4 notification ringtone doesn't seem to work, the phone only vibrates while notifying something(new message, or any popup....etc ). please help me out in this. tried changing my notification tone, set the volume to max but nthng worked for me.

I restart the phone, reinstall the sofware, update i did everything and the problem is still here, sometimes when i make a call problems comes and sometimes nothing happens.

a simple solution.. go in the settings than to sound and than put default notification to silent.
set your sms notification from sms settings or other apps notification from there settings.

when default notification is set to silent, you will not get ring notification of ussd code, it will just vibrate in that case....and that is acceptable acc. me.

it will work fine.
mine is working fine since months after above setting.

This seems to be working for me for now. This is the best solution that I have found.

However I am not sure whether silenting all notification will deprive me of some other system notification other than ussd code.

Hey guys,

I also having the same problem. I did what uliwooly told. But didnot solve the issue.

After that I contact singapore support center. The person who response to my inquery told me the same solution. In my inquery I specifically mention that what I did to solve my notification sound problem. But what these support center guys telling is same as what uliwooly told. But from that the problem wont solve.

So what shall we do....

I'm in Sri Lanka... Any one knows the address for authorized dealer or a support center in Sri Lanka....

I ask about this from the singapore support center but still they did not reply to my e-mail.

other notifications would be shown in status bar..
and from sound setting "check" vibrate on ring, it will vibrate for other apps notification!

Yes you are correct. Vibration will work for any time for all the notifications.

My problem is the notification sound. It is not working after I receive USSD information. However the vibration is working in all the time.

The only solution I got is to bloeck the USSD notification by using a app or by informing the service provider. Any solution other than blocking the USSD notification is highly appreciated.

I found the simplest solution was to download another ringtone app (there are lots of free ones) and use that for the sms tone. So far it seems to be working.
