Xperia P Battery

I´m just wondering why Sony decided to go with a 1305 mAh battery in the Xperia P. Can someone tell me the reason for that? Are there any technical or space limitations in this phone i´m not aware of?
Even the HTC Desire has a 1400 mAh battery altough it was announced exactly two years before Xperia P. I would have loved to buy this phone but as the battery is quiet low compared to other phones, which still last not nearly as long as i´d call it ok, i seriously doubt that i´m going to buy it unless someone told me a really good reason why they decided to stick with a battery which is low like that.

we all wonder about this, the screens got bigger, HD in some cases but the battery remained the same or smaller, something is wrong with this picture Slightly_frowning_Face

So there´s no answer to this question yet? Slightly_frowning_Face

This phone lasts twice more than the Iphone because it is power efficient.

So it may not need such a big battery.

But why going with the minimum? Sure it might last twice as long as an iPhone, altough i really doubt that under heavy use, but if it had a 1600-1900 mAh Battery it could last even longer! Don´t you think?

I mean why not using the best technology that´s available on the market?

They want to make it slim, so it is either a new screen or a bigger battery.

So this 1300 mAh battery really saved that much space compared to lets say the 1500 mAh one in the Arc S? I´m not a battery engeneer so i don´t know how much space you save with 200 mAh less battery. Is there so much diffrence in space?

doubt it, we need to wait for a teardown to check this, but it seems more of Sony saving money on a smaller battery.

Yea true. Alredy looking forward to the release and the reviews of the handset.

But why saving money there? There are so many batteries in the internet you can buy for 30 to 50 €. Are those all the cheap made fake batteries? I mean if i had to pay like 50 € more for this phone and therfore get a 1500 - 1700 mAh I´d of course pay that.

If they have to save the money on the battery i think they probably overpowered the phone for a mid-range one. I´d rather have a bigger battery with maybe a bit more money to spend on than a phone with quite good mid-range specs for less money which lasts like half a day. Altough i don´t want to say that this phone won´t last long! I know the technologies which are build in it but 1300 mAh just seem very little to me.

Or could that probably be the price you have to pay for a handset that should have a lot of functionality and also look well unlike those HTC bricks with all the same boring looks?
