xperia sold as a waterproof phone but a drench in the rain while in pocket and water goes in. Should be faulty phone . i am still in warranty but service team says since water has gone in no warranty. My question if phone is waterproof how come water goes in and if so sony should replace it and not charge me for a new phone cost. maybe sony is trying to fool public by giving false promises .
Let me get this right - You want Sony to fix your phone because you think it's waterproof when it's not - If you bought it and were told it's waterproof then you need to go back to the place of purchase - The Xperia L is not waterproof
Of course, where did you get that the device is waterproof? Can you tell us?
my phone is xperia z1 and it is definetly waterproof phone as per its itenary.
The Z1 is waterproof but you posted in the Xperia L section and said you have an Xperia L - So you need to either take it back to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/
But your title says Xperia L.You should contact your local xperia team and hand in the device:

i have given my phone to sony service .they donot own responsibility since water is in it. Also they say phone is void of warranty since there is water ingress. They gave a estimate of 21000 rupees for repairing it although it is in warranty.I want to bring the matter to the the highest authority in sony and try to get it replaced.
If the phone was in water and the flaps were open warranty is VOID. It is because phone is only waterproof as per IP58 standard when all flaps are firmly closed. If service center tested phone for being waterproof with flaps closed and it passed the test it means that the flaps were open when the rain catched you.
If you still believe that you are right and flaps were closed contact Xperia Care again and ask for inspection. Keep in mind that you will have to pay for the test if result will confirm that it is your fault.
