I have the new firmware 4.0.1.A.0.238 LT15i updated via PCC today.

Seems snappier (wishful thinking).
3D panorama (Did not work yet for me).
3D gallery app.
Screenshots in power menu.
New time widget.
Facebook share integration stuff.
Swype keyboard.

Install it and you will see  5 folders

                                   Custom

                                   Drivers

                                   Firmwares

                                   Loaders

                                   X10Flasher_lib

take the firmware to the  "Firmwares" folder

click on Falsh

Press Ok

it will ask you to connect your phone on Flashmode (turn off your phone, press the back button, then connect the USB) press OK

There is a note saying :

Note:
.FTF->Locked devices-> no root
.img->unlocked devices-->root

What do they mean when they say locked and unlocked?  Are they referring to the locked/unlocked bootloader or just the phones that are locked/unlocked?

Then I will know which file I need to dowmload.

yeah I think one has been rooted by unlocking the bootloader , I'm testing the locked version since I don't need root access at the moment

Ok thanks. I too do not need a rooted phone at the moment especially if the bootloader is unlocked(will lose DRM functionality)

If it is rooted without unlocking the bootloader, I may consider it.

I know sony ericsson can do better that's all and I still want a Burst mode and a better quality camera (pictures)
