X10 Gingerbread Update Issues

Hi

I have recently update my x10 to the 2.3.3 system only to find 3 issues after the update.

Timescape no longer accepts/reads/syncs text messages into the program. The following appears on either Timescape or Messages:

The application Messaging

extension (process

com.sonyericsson.eventstream.

telphonyplugin) has stopped

unexpectedly. Please try again.

Force Close.

Also the camera light now fails to operate.

And the MP3 player now has a series of chirps/skips in the songs as they're played - probably every minute or so.

Using the headphones or not fail to make a difference. This also occurs using Power Amp media player.

Sony's idea was to reinstall the update - which has had no effect.

My wife also has the same phone. And the same issues.....

Has anyone else Xperia-nced this? (Sorry, bad pun..)

I saw you wrote about deleting the data from manging application for the camera app. Is that going to affect the pictures and all the files created from the camera?

ok, go to

settings -> applications -> manage applications -> all -> camera -> clear everything

reboot your phone

Is it going to delete already made files by the camera?

it won't affect the files on your camera, since those files are stored on your SD card, it will delete the settings and all that from your camera nothing else

try to backup everything, take both SIM & SD cards out and run the update once more (w/o the sd/sim cards on )

Hello Everyone.

i'm new to android world & yesterday i hv updated my xperia x10 to gingerbread via pc companion but since then my phone iz not detecting memory card & i failed to connenct to pc again without memory card so that i can try to repair the upgraded software.

I hv tried few things like formating memory card using card reader, & also used the option of  factory reset but it has not worked.

Can anyone plz help me out ???

Just have to say, I am real disappointed that you all keep saying it is a hardware issue...You all made me crawl outta my cave and jump onto a pc to show some interesting information. I have also posted the same information on XDA site.

I know it has been a while since I posted anything to help out but I am on the truck trying to find a cure but I need a little help.

Mods: Sorry for starting a new thread but it is needed and if you would so kindly as to delete any stating that "the fix is easy, go here or there", cause it is not an easy fix.

So I have 2 Sony Xperia X10a's and 1 the camera works and the other does not.

Its pretty easy why though the dc charging port does not work on the one that did not get updated.

Now, I have tried everything erasing this deleting that, downgrading upgrading, backing up the image from the good (working xperia) to the old. Nothing works so I went ahead and installed launcherpro and did the link for service menu on both phones. Guess what I think I found the issue but I am stuck on figuring the fix at the moment.

All other Info is the same

To install Launcher Pro, search on market or Sony play its free install then hold press screen, create shortcut, select activity, then scroll down to service menu and click to expand the files, then select the first one. "com.sonyericsson.android.servicemenu.ServiceMainM enu" then just click the icon and then select service info, software info.. This will bring you the screen I have listed.. then hitting back back back will exit the menu..

I have looked for way of trying to change to the newer version but it does not seem to be in my ability. Also the camera it self is not the problem I have removed the camera from one and put in the other and the camera works. This is not a hardware issue.

If anyone has any ideas on how to update this please post the steps to do so.. Upgrading/downgrading the firmware will not correct this. The file remains the same. Also seeing "No file found" under memory card does not effect anything.
