Hi
I have recently update my x10 to the 2.3.3 system only to find 3 issues after the update.
Timescape no longer accepts/reads/syncs text messages into the program. The following appears on either Timescape or Messages:
Sorry!
The application Messaging
extension (process
com.sonyericsson.eventstream.
telphonyplugin) has stopped
unexpectedly. Please try again.
Force Close.
Also the camera light now fails to operate.
And the MP3 player now has a series of chirps/skips in the songs as they're played - probably every minute or so.
Using the headphones or not fail to make a difference. This also occurs using Power Amp media player.
Sony's idea was to reinstall the update - which has had no effect.
My wife also has the same phone. And the same issues.....
Has anyone else Xperia-nced this? (Sorry, bad pun..)
ok forget al about that..
just download this and see if it remains or not

it gives u extra options also..
try it...now
Ladies and Gentlemen - I may have found a solution to the "skipping" issue on our humble x10's audio player.
Note I said "may".
"Rooting" (that's funny here in Australia cause it means fu@%ed) is not something I am comfortable with so I googled the issue for a couple of month now.
I have done masses of research on this subject and this is what I have discovered.
I updated my stock 8gb memory card to a brand name (Kingston) 16gb memory card.
Copied all files directly over to the new card and downloaded Winamp from the market place.
This seems to be the only player to work thus far... pity, as I quite like Poweramp...
Hey presto - this seems, so far, to have cured the problem by 95 - 98%.
How'd I work this out? I swapped my memory card into my mates X10 and he doesn't have an issue with the audio. It plays perfect on the stock media player.
It seems to work for me, so if anyone else with this issue could try the same and let us know, we could be onto something here.

Hi
I am having the same problem like most of you. After I upgraded to the latest software, it give problem.
It having the problem shutdown by itself and the battery burning hot. So, I send the phone to the service centre last week and took back yesterday.
I asked what happen to the phone? They replied that nothing wrong, the problem is I did not upgrade probably. I accepted and I took it home but on the way home the problem came again. Therefore, I walk back to the centre again and show them. Do you know what happen, the staff said id like that. What a service I have from the centre.
I have no choice, I bring the phone back home. By bring the phone home is the bad thing. I try to download some translate software and it stared to shutdown by itself again.
At the same time, I try to charge, the phone as the battery is low. Now, the actual bad thing happen, the phone totally went dead ! Dead !!!!
I have to bring to the service centre to make complaint this time. What a stupid Sony Ericsson service centre and their technical centre staff.
Is time for me to change the phone from Sony Ericsson to Samsung. Say good bye to the brand !
Bad memory

Sorry to hear the issues you are facing with the phone.
There certainly been many problems being reported by forum users with regards to the X10 have issues after updating to 2.3.
From what you describe, I know it may sound silly, but you may need to get the phone's motherboard replaced.
From some feedback from other users, a motherboard replacement finally fixed the issue.
yeah must issues can be solved with Update Service or PC Companion or
settings -> applications -> manage applications -> all -> select the app and CLEAR everything
Good evening everyone and especially dear manufacturers and software people from SE. I am really disappointed of the problem I have with my Xperia X 10. I am from Bulgaria. I bought the phone around May 2011 and it had Android 1.6. Maybe during August i decided to boos it with a software update to Gingerbread 2.3.3. Basebad version 2.1.71. It was perfect until i found out that my camera cant start. It starts but it freezes and no pics can be taken. After 5 restarts of teh app maybe one pic can be taken and that is it. That is just a pitty. Impossible I have been having phones from SE and always perfect quality, never doubted but suddenly this problem appears to me and there is no solution. I see other people are also facing problems with the alast update. I do not have any of the problems iwht Timescape or Music player but not having a working camera of a phone that costed me 500 Euros is just disrespectul to the customer. There should be fix found for the problem. Or some way in whcih people can get an older version of the software. If the 2.2 does not ahve this issue i have no problem with going back one. But now I am not sure if i want to try to get the latest version. Please somebody give me any idea how to fix teh problem wtih the camera. There is no APP anywhere to be found or drivers to cahnge. THE issue is that the rotation sensors are made for the camera only portrait and landscape and Gingerbread allows one more direction so that is my opinion, but this thing must be fixed.
Best wishes
did you tried the suggestion above? on all the apps that are acting up?
the camera will take pictures on landscape or portrait based on how you hold your phone but the menu won't rotate.
Maybe I did not explain it correctly but it just freezes, it does not want to make a picture or video. I do not care if menu rotates or not. I cna't make any change to resolution or anything becuase it freezes. And it does not allow me to make a caption, a video or photo.
