With 5.1.1 battery drains in standby as fast as in use

Hi guys. I need help.
I bought a Z3 tablet compact a week ago and my battery lasts in stand by as much as it lasts in use.

I tried in safe mode, same result. I have a 4G sim installed and stamina disabled. Droid 5.1.1
It should last orders of magnitude longer in stand by ...

I read somewhere that you should be able to resolve this issue with going into recovery mode and erasing update cache. I cannot get into recovery mode with instructions found online. I read that should get you into recovery:

1. shut down

2. press power and volume down and after vibration release power button

Does not work for me. Results in safe mode boot. I also checked from dev options that the device is not sim locked.

Please, help, ideas?

This is how to find out

repair the tablet with PCC > do NOT install anything, don't enter your Gmail account, don't restore anything, take some screenshots and report back.

You mean I should factory reset and after that do the same process of charging and discharging and screenshots as before?

@Manivald

not factory reset but repair the phone with PCC

So, I did the repair thing with PCC and did not log into anywhere, but had the SIM card inserted still. I also logged into my local wifi. It apperas the problem persists.

There is some problem with the graph, but the device was powered for two hours just sitting in standby and lost several percent of charge.

I guess it is now established that the problem is somewhere in the default software of the device?

What could I do to resolve the issue? Thank you for your assistance!

@Manivald

were you using the tablet at all or was it off?

It was on and mostly in standby. I checked the battery level at times and browsed a few webpages in chrome but did not log any apps into anywhere.

This is quite odd, @Nabeel @Quester @alexdon

do you guys have any suggestions?

Something is keeping the phone awake most of the time.

Since even software repair didn't help, I think it's best if you get your tablet examined at Sony service center Or if you bought it from a Sony center, then you should probably pay a visit there and see what they suggest about it. Your tablet is completely new, they might provide you with a replacement.

It could be a hardware issue i'm afraid.
