Wifi turns off automatically to save power then never turns on again

I've had a problem with my phone lately: whenever I leave the house and my WiFi the WiFi turns off automatically, all good in the hood. But then when I come back home, it used to turn itself back on. Now, it doesn't. Consequently, I have repeatedly forgotten to manually turn on WiFi which means my phone is happily spending all my mobile data, long before the month is over. I want to disable this feature but can no longer find the Power management in settings. Please help.

@Tomtebobarnet,

That should make it so your wifi never turns off when your phone sleeps. What about the questions @YoGem asked? Could you please try their suggestions?

Sorry for the late answer, I tried this last night but it didn't work. Wifi stays off.

Hi Cameron, I tried @YoGem's suggestion, didn't work though. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with sleeping functions, since it happens when the phone is "awake", i.e. screen is on. It simply disconnects the wifi after a few minutes away from the router. Some months back, this worked well because it automatically turned the wifi on again when I was within range, which helped me save battery power. Now, it only turns off the wifi though, never back on again. Not a major issue, just annoying that I have to remember to manually disconnect mobile data every time I come home, and when I repeatedly forget, I run out of data.

@Tomtebobarnet,

Does the same thing happen in Safe Mode?
