Hi,

I have this problem, that when I connect to the internet with my Xperia P throu wifi it will connect but after a minute it will not load pages anymore.

Everything works fine when connecting to the internet with DATA TRAFFIC.....what should i do?

Please help - everything was fine before with Gingerbread.

I updated to ICS yesterday on the 24th/aug.12.

Would it help if i repair the firmware? - and when repairing will all my previously installed Apps be deleted?

I was able to take a brief look :smileyhappy:.

The wireless capture is pretty short and it doesn't show any traffic but it does have the frames where the STA(tion) - the phone is informing the AP (from Ruckus in your case) that it will go to sleep. This is something that I saw in my capture as well.

I wasn't able to see wpa_supplicant messages in the logcat log however which is unusual. Were you browsing/connected via wifi when you ran the logcat trace?

Hoping that the newest firmware 6.1.1.b.1.10 will be released soon and it will have a fix for the wifi issue... Keep seeing rumors that it may be released in India first on the 28th and then Europe around the 5th...nothing official so far...

Yea, I saw the logs that you provided.

What I did was to just create a simple filter to capture packets between my device and AP in omnipeek, and all I got was this.

However, as you pointed out, there was no heavy browsing when these loga were captured.

Maybe next time I'll do that.

And don't believe in rumors, rememeber how it was rumoured for ICS update and how much was it delayed.

Problem still exists somewhere in development. Not sure if the other xperia models got a fix. I just updated my "xperia go" with the newly released ics 4.04 (6.1.1.B.1.10).

Same problem with wireless. I have a Fritzbox 7390 and was able to switch the first radio (2.4Ghz) to b,g and leave the second radio (5Ghz) in n mode for the other wireless devices.

It would be good to have a fix so that I know it will work where ever I am though.

Thanks for the update. This is really disappointing to hear. I was hoping that the latest update would have had a fix... Haven't heard anything since I sent the latest log files either...

I really like the phone but without reliable wi-fi it is useless to me. If there is no fix by the time Lumia 920 or Oppo Finder are released I guess I'd just have to ebay it and migrate to another phone/or platform.

The update for the 'GO' was the first version of ICS it got, so it's not surprising it has similar bugs to ours:

Since the xperia P has had it for a while, i'm still keeping faith that 6.1.B.0.559 will still deliver a wifi fix. Have to agree that the phone is seriously crippled as is, have to keep an eye on my mobile data all the time. HOPEFULLY we'll find out on the 5th whether i'm right or not...

I am Sick & tired of the WI-Fi issues on my phone,

Connects just for few minutes & does not do anything after that.

It also wont let you to turn off the Wi-Fi to connect on the data service, u have to restart the phone to do that,

I tried reloading the software couple of times still the same issue Y sony is not looking at this issue are they really Blind??

First of all they release the ICS software so so late & when it is released this is how it is PATHETIC.

I was so happy with GB.

Duh sony release some firmware update, i do hate to ROOT my phone but now i think i am forced to do so.

I am facing exactly the same symptoms. Connection for a few minutes only, WiFi cannt be turned off thereafter, phone reboot required. Sony Xperia P with 550 Firmware.

From the past few posts it appears that the bug is still present in the 6.1.1.B.1.10 as well as in the 6.1.B.0.550 firmware (I think this one was Vodafone specific). The only hope left so far, as deadduck pointed out in his post, is to try 6.1.B.0.559. No word on when it will become available to mere mortals though

i too is having the same wifi problem with my tplink 702N wireless n router. i have xperia go updated to ics 6.1.1.B.1.10. it freezes internet access of every gadget i have that is connected to my router.
