Wifi problem after ICS update

Hi,

I have this problem, that when I connect to the internet with my Xperia P throu wifi it will connect but after a minute it will not load pages anymore.

Everything works fine when connecting to the internet with DATA TRAFFIC.....what should i do?

Please help - everything was fine before with Gingerbread.

I updated to ICS yesterday on the 24th/aug.12.

Would it help if i repair the firmware? - and when repairing will all my previously installed Apps be deleted?

I'm from Estonia!

Best regards,

Thank you....
Mario

My German is a bit rusty but from what I can understand in this forum they are discussing wifi issues after ICS upgrade with certain routers.

Also in another thread on the same site - http://www.android-hilfe.de/sony-xperia-p-forum/264368-neue-firmware-82.html one of the guys announces that he was able to upgrade to 6.1.B.0.550 but that the upgrade was Vodafone specific...hopefully it will get released soon and will have a fix for our wifi issue....

Mickyb99,

What is your baseband version if you don't mind me asking?

Mine is:

Actually nevermind...found out it doesn't affect the wifi radio...

In desperation I tried a different firmware - generic world (and previously also had tried the central european one). In case you are also tempted - don't. Save yourself the hassle and frustration of reinstalling all the apps. Same behavior with that firmware too.

Hi All,

I have recently upraded to ICS, and after that I have a unique problem with the mobile's wifi.

After mobile is connected to wifi for about 2-3 minutes, it does not disconnect.

I tried switching off the wifi, even enabled the flight mode (so that the wifi is deactivated), but the device simply don't disconnect from wifi.

I even tried to remove the wifi settings by "Forget" Network, but no luck.

To stop wifi, I have to switch off my device

Is there any patch or settings I should try, or is factory reset my only option.

Hey Iproute,

For the record my base band version is the exact same as yours. Also, I did a capture of the non-working router this evening. I guess it's the same behaviour as yours whereby I get a couple of power management packets being sent from the phone and not much else happening.

Thanks for checking!

I also noticed that the phone is happy to return icmp replies all day long but any other kind of traffic "through" the interface makes it go into a deep coma.

People on other forums (from what I was able to translate) in Germany, Spain and I believe even Russia are having the same issue...

I think if the Sony excutives were required to use this phone the issue would have been fixed by now Slightly_smiling_Face ...
