WiFi and notifications issue

This phone is doing my head in.

So far, the option "Keep WiFi on during sleep" was set to Always, so every time I woke up I'd have a drained batter because of it. I set it to Never and I noticed that after that, I don't receive notifications for apps. When the option is set to Always everything is working fine, but when it's set to Never, I have to go to my apps and manually check if there's anything new. How can this be a problem? Is there a solution?

What you are describing it's not quite a problem, as it's working as it should.

What do you mean, it's working as it should? I mean, I don't get notifications once I turn my phone back on.

When the option is set to Never and my phone goes to sleep, after I turn it on and connect via wifi I'm not getting notifications.

Why don't you try settings > power management > extended stanby mode > activate ?

I did and the notifications are still not working after I turn my screen back on and connect to the internet.

How is it possible that the fact my WiFi is not turned on when the phone goes to sleep messes with my notifications?

Because it disable data and wifi to prolong battery life, which apps are not working so I can test it with my Xperia S?

Facebook messenger, twitter and instagram notifications aren't working!

I'll test it, could check if you receive MMS, and messages on hangouts?

Hmm, I don't use hangouts. 😕

Do you have any battery apps? Also test it by sending a MMS
