ST18a updated this afternoon to the second release of ICS (was using first release previous to this).
USB Tethering and Wi-Fi Hotspot are no longer working. I can connect and get an IP address but no internet access.
This is real bad since this is a primary use for my phone.
UPDATE: Confirmed same behavior with a second laptop ... I can connect to the Wi-Fi hotspot on my phone but no internet access.
UPDATE: iPad via Wi-Fi Hotspot, same thing, gets IP address but no internet access.

Johan,
With all the NEW reports (as of 25-June) of hotspot and tethering being broken and so many different model phones being involved, have you any insight at all as to if the developers are actively working on a fix?
Regards,

I updated my xperia ray (ST18a) to 4.0.4 and am having the same issue: Tethering to any computer via usb, or creating a wifi hotspot to gain internet access does not work at all. I just tried repairing my install with SEUS with no success.
My provider is Rogers Wireless. I don't think this is relevant, since I purchased the phone unlocked from the Sony storefront on Amazon.com. I am honestly fed up with these updating issues. I have family in the hospital and cannot afford to have my phone failing on me now when I need it the most.
They are still looking at this but I have no more information at the moment I'm afraid. But I promise that you'll be the first to know as soon as I hear anything.
Xperia Active and Xperia Mini. Same issue... there must be a solution, I've try everything, and no succes. Sony Udate service and PC Companion...

Hi Johan:
My Xperia Active and Mini are presenting this issue. Any news from the developers of Sony? I'm from Venezuela and my providers of services are Movilnet.

Neo V st11i - hotspot with tethering works great. Other droid has connected and has had internet acces.
I have the same tethering problem with my Arc S (LT18a) with the 4.1.B.0.431 update.
This is not an operator issue, because just before the update I was perfectly connected.
I decided to install an app like PdaNet or Easy Tether until the fix is released because I really need it. The problem is when the trial expires.
Thats a shame our phones have a feature that we can't use.
Hi edwinter. So, you are usin Pdanet, so, it's working? to use it until SONY fix this issue. Thanks...
davidzam,
Yes, it's working, I'm currently using it.
The issue is when the pdanet trial expires the access to the secure sites like gmail, facebook, banking, etc will be blocked. The easy tether lite also blocks secure sites.
I tried with FoxFi and fails, "Fail to activate. Internet not detected" and the Internet on the phone is active and working.
I was wondering if the problem is with the default APN, which is impossible to delete!
